"Be loud, take up space and be heard."
This quote resonates deeply with me, encapsulating the essence of my actions and movements. It is not merely a personal mantra but a call to action, especially for women worldwide. In a society where women's voices have historically been marginalised, the directive to "be loud, take up space and be heard" is a powerful affirmation of self-expression and confidence. It encourages women to speak up, challenge ingrained notions and make an impact. By embodying the principles of this quote, I strive to inspire others to embrace their power and potential. In doing so, we can create a more equitable and inclusive world where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and be heard.
My Cosmo Mission
Lydia volunteers in her community as a womens youth and empowerment mentor. Lydia’s role as a mentor includes guiding, supporting and empowering young women from minority groups who are facing life’s challenges. As a mentor, Lydia encourages her mentees to develop leadership and communication skills by encouraging them to use their voices and speak up for their needs and rights.
Lydia's dedication to mentoring reflects her broader commitment to social justice and she hopes to leverage the Miss Cosmo platform to amplify her campaign beyond her local community. Her vision is to create a ripple effect of empowerment, where young women everywhere feel supported and capable of achieving their full potential.
